NBA2K25 has released its top 100 players ranking last week on X. Their top 10 will be revealed on Monday, August 26, but it’s safe to say that no Portland Trail Blazers players will be in the top 10. Their highest-ranked player heading into the 2024-25 season wasn’t even in the top 50.
Deandre Ayton was the Blazers’ highest ranked playerwith an overall 2K rating of 83, tied for 63rd among the best players. Other Blazers players receiving top 100 NBA 2K ratings for next season were Jerami Grant (82 rating, tied for 70th) and Anfernee Simons (81 rating, tied for 78th).
The Blazers were joined by two teams whose best player was rated 83: the Washington Wizards (Kyle Kuzma) and the Chicago Bulls (Zach LaVine). The only team below them in that department was the Brooklyn Nets, with 81 overall, Nic Claxton.
1. Anfernee Simons
NBA 2K25 Score: 81
Simons, like Grant, both have good reason to claim to be the Blazers’ best player heading into next season. Simons is averaging career-best averages in nearly every major statistical category, averaging 22.6 points, 5.5 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game.
He has a reputation as a high-end scorer who doesn’t contribute in other areas. While Simons’ defense leaves a lot to be desired due to his small size, he’s also an underrated playmaker who can be a solid secondary offensive initiator. Simons is projected to be 83-84 at 2K.
2. Deni Avdija
NBA 2K25 Score: 80
New player Deni Avdija should do well in 2K’s ratings due to his versatility and two-way prowess. Avdija improved his three-point shooting significantly last season and has no major flaws; due to his all-around game, he should be closer to an 83.
Deni has been underrated because he didn’t get much national attention with the Washington Wizards, and that could continue to be the case with the rebuilding Blazers. But he’s an outsider to become Portland’s best player next season.
3. Toumani Camara
NBA 2K25 Score: 76
Toumani Camara is a solid role player from the 3 and 4, which alone should boost his rating by a few points to 78-79. Camara consistently defended the opposing team’s best player despite being a rookie last season. He also shot much better than many teams expected coming into the league, hitting 33.7 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc.
Camara could see his role increase next season, especially if the Blazers end up decide to trade GrantIf he continues to improve his three-point shooting, Camara has the potential to become a long term start for Rip City.
