The Sacramento Kings are one of the most frustrating teams in the league this season. They can look like a real playoff threat one night, then completely fall apart the next game.

This inconsistency has not only taken Kings fans on an emotional roller coaster all season long, but it could also cost the team a playoff appearance. The West is finally healthy and home to some of the NBA’s brightest stars. The other teams have clearly improved and Sacramento is struggling to keep up.

The offense isn’t performing like it did last season, and Mike Brown’s vision of a competitive defense hasn’t come true. It looks like none of this will change until the roster does.

So, let’s look at six players who could soon be playing their final game in a Kings uniform.

As painful as it is, Malik Monk needs to be on this list. He will be an unrestricted free agent after the season, and until he signs a new contract, there is no guarantee he will stay in Sacramento.

A lot of things suggest he should stay: Monk has an established role on this team and has thrived at the position. He’s playing the best basketball of his career on a team with one of his closest friends.

By playing so well, however, Monk got a serious salary increase, and other teams could possibly outbid the Kings. Then it will depend on Monk’s decision and nothing else. There should certainly be interest on both sides to find a new deal, but for now, nothing is certain.
