The Golden State Warriors need Stephen Curry more than ever in their dynastic journey.

The two-time MVP and four-time NBA champion has been the Warriors’ only consistent offense this season. With Curry, Golden State has an offensive rating of 119.8, compared to 116.1 with him off the court.

But the Warriors will be without their superstar as he recovers from the ankle injury he suffered in Thursday’s 125-122 loss to the Chicago Bulls.

Curry twisted his ankle near the end of the game, forcing him off the court for further evaluation.

Is Stephen Curry playing tonight?

The curry was excluded for Saturday’s game, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reported.

The two-time MVP sprained his right ankle during Thursday’s 125-122 loss to the Bulls. He left the game late in the fourth quarter. Curry posted 15 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist on 27.8% shooting in 29 minutes.

Steve Kerr told reporters after the loss that Curry had “his foot in a bucket of ice” but had no further updates regarding the injury. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski later reported that Curry had an MRI, which came back clean.

Chris Paul will likely take over the starting point guard duties while Curry will be sidelined. Draymond Green is confident that the team will not falter in the absence of the MVP.

“We know he’s more than capable. He’s Chris Paul,” Green said. by ESPN. “It’s been amazing to have C here, but then you have Steph going down — no one’s Steph Curry in the NBA. But knowing that you’re going into the game with a guy who can win you game after game after game, it definitely gives you confidence knowing that you are more than capable of winning matches.

Curry is averaging 26.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game on 44.9% shooting from the field and 40.7% from 3-point range. Saturday will be just Curry’s fourth absence of the season.
