One month before the end of the NBA season, the 76ers anticipate the return of reigning MVP Joel Embiid.
Embiid has been out of Philadelphia’s lineup since suffering a torn meniscus in a loss to the Warriors on Jan. 30. Embiid continues to progress in his rehabilitation and is now six weeks removed from the corrective procedure that was performed to repair the tear.
The 76ers struggled in the absence of their superstar, losing 7 of their first 18 games without Embiid. Worse still is the absence of All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey, who suffered a concussion on March 3.

Is Joel Embiid playing tonight?
The Sixers have yet to submit an injury report, but Embiid is expected to miss his 19th straight game on Tuesday.
Embiid last played on Jan. 30, when he was injured after a collision with Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga. On February 6, Embiid underwent knee surgery and was scheduled to be re-evaluated in four weeks, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Following Embiid’s reevaluation, Shams Charania of The Athletic provided a clearer timeline for the reigning MVP’s return to action. “It’s a six to eight week injury schedule,” Charania said.
“And still the hope and optimism and expectation is that somewhere in late March-early April, that’s when the window starts for Joel Embiid to potentially make a return.”
