The Eastern Conference playoff seeding is on the line tonight as the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers face off in the Big Apple for the second time in three days.

The 76ers ended a three-game skid this weekend behind Kelly Oubre Jr.’s 18 points, and they are expected to welcome Tyrese Maxey back from a concussion tonight. This would be a huge boost as they try to close in on the Knicks in the race to avoid the Play-In tournament.

Praise the basketball gods for Philadelphia 76ers timely acquisition of Kyle Lowry on the buyout market last month. Philadelphia was already struggling with Joel EmbiidThe absence of, but a series of other injuries pushed Lowry into a bigger role than he surely expected when he signed for his hometown team.

The veteran point guard turns 38 later this month, and his steady hand has helped the visitors at least stay competitive with a 3-3 record in their last six games. Lowry has played more than 30 minutes in all five games so far in March, and I expect the heavy workload to continue tonight, even with Tyrese Maxey ready to come back.

Lowry’s assist prop is one that jumps out at me. That’s always been a strength for the former Raptor, and he had recorded five dimes or more in four straight outings before finishing with just three assists in Sunday’s brawl.

These days his scoring tends to come and go, but Lowry’s decision-making remains elite and his assist tally should have a bump with Maxey on the receiving end of his passes.

It’s reasonable to expect more offense than we saw between the Sixers and New York Knicks this weekend, and I’m counting on Lowry’s play to be a major factor tonight.

With his teammates dropping like flies around him, Josh Hart continued to be Tom Thibodeau’s iron man. He’s played at least 40 minutes in every game since the All-Star break, and he’s been a consistent contributor on the glass.

I love the Over on the Hart bounce prop here. He’s posted double figures in four of his last six games – with 18 or more in two of those outings. Hart finished with 11 rebounds on Sunday and there should be plenty of holes to fill again here.

The Under will be in for a popular game tonight, with both teams missing key players, and Sunday’s game was tough to watch at times, as the Knicks shot just 33 percent from the field.

While a repeat of this futility is unlikely, trends support another low-scoring matchup. The Under are 8-2 in New York’s last 10 games and 7-3 in Philadelphia over the same span.

After a no-show from both offenses on Sunday, it’s hard to feel good about picking either team against the spread. The Knicks get the title of favorite, but the 6.5 point line seems high, especially with Maxey poised to spice up the 76ers’ game plan.

In its last 10 contests, New York is just 3-7 ATS. Philadelphia also did an impressive job on Jalen Brunson in the previous game, holding him to 19 points on 6-of-22 shooting. While the 76ers’ record was better than 3-6-1 ATS in their last 10 games, the line would surely be shorter.

I’ve already picked the Under as an attractive bet, and the Knicks deserve a lot of credit for holding two straight opponents under 80 points.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia hasn’t reached 110 points in any of its last four games, while New York has been held to 100 points or fewer in five of its last six games.
