Last season, Patrick Beverly was acquired by the Chicago Bulls. As a Chicago native, Beverley quickly found himself as a fan favorite, helping fuel the team with his leadership. Despite his time with the team resulting in a strong end to the season for the Bulls, he and the team parted ways this offseason.

Subsequently, Patrick Beverley joined Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers for 47 games before becoming a member of the Milwaukee Bucks in February 2024.

In a recent episode of the Pat Bev Podcast for Barstool Sports, the Bucks star opened up about a tense situation between him and Nikola Vucevic last season, recalling that it seemed like things were building up between the two.

Additionally, he also joked about his teammate Bobby Portis being his new enforcer.

“The way he looked was like, oh, you built that. So now I’m thinking in my head. It was in that Detroit game at Chicago,” Beverley said. “He elbowed me in practice once. It’s a big boy’s league. He wasn’t a funny teammate but he was a serious teammate. But I just didn’t have it heard. So I felt a little frustrated.

“Careful Vuc. I got Big Bobby behind me too now. I can bust my shit now. I got it. Yeah. You know he ain’t playing. Bobby ain’t playing. ‘Say Bobby, Bobby, he hit me .'”

A Look at the Chicago Bulls-Milwaukee Bucks Rivalry Amid Patrick Beverley’s Comments

Although Patrick Beverley may have joked about Bobby Portis becoming his new enforcer against Nikola Vucevic, the two truly have a rivalry. The conflict dates back several years and although the composition of the two teams has changed, Beverley now finds himself on the opposing side.

Despite their success at the end of last season, Beverley and the Bulls separate ways. Now, not only is he back in the Eastern Conference Central Division alongside the Bulls, but he has also joined their rivals.

Going back to Grayson Allen’s infamous foul on Alex Caruso that saw the former NBA champion suffer a broken wrist, the two teams apparently had a bit of beef. Although Allen now plays for the Suns, the games between the Bulls and Bucks continue to get heated.

Just a week ago, as things started to get more and more physical, Nikola Vucevic was ejected for a flagrant two-foot foul on AJ Green. The situation arose after DeMar DeRozan committed a technical foul in the third for complaining to the officials about the problem. Deer‘ physical play, especially towards Coby White.

The game highlighted the fact that despite the departure of Grayson Allen, the Bulls and Bucks still have some animosity towards each other.
