Five-time NBA All-Star John Wall isn’t ruling out a return to the league and said if the opportunity presented itself, he would love to play for the Miami Heat.
Asked by a fan while guesting on The OG show of Mike Miller and Udonis Haslem if he was ready to return to play for the Heat alongside Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, the 33-year-old former first overall pick (2010) answered in the affirmative, saying he could help the team.
Wall said, shared by NBA Center on X:
•
“I just feel like I can help them a lot, you know what I mean.” I think having Terry (Rozier) was a great piece for them, to like someone who can make plays and pick and roll for them and everything.
“But even if I hadn’t started, coming off the bench, I think I could be another person that can help them and have an impact on them. As me and UD (Udonis Haslem) have talked about this many times and I work with Bam a lot so…”

John Wall still loves basketball
John Wall said he still loves basketball. It’s something he’s holding on to as he remains hopeful of making a return to the NBA.
Currently out of the league, the five-time NBA All-Star said he wants to continue playing and work on his fitness and game, so that when an opportunity to return to the NBA presents itself, he will be ready.
In an interview published on Launderer’s Report in November last year, Wall said he does not rule out a return to competitive basketball and believes he has kept himself in shape to earn teams’ consideration.
He said:
“I love the game, I still get up every morning at 6 a.m., [I] training. I’m still determined to come back, I think something will happen soon. For me, I still love work, I still love getting up and working. You just saw me train for an hour and a half. Regardless, I still love the game.”
“If I still have the hunger and desire to be [in the NBA]I will continue to pursue my dream to come back. It’s just about being patient, staying ready, letting God do His work, and being ready whenever your name is called.
John Wall had his best years playing for the Washington Wizards, where he spent nine seasons. In the 2016-17 season, he posted career-high averages of 23.1 points, 10.7 assists and two steals while in District.
