What there is to know
The Golden State Warriors will hit the road to take on the Dallas Mavericks at 8:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday at the American Airlines Center. Both teams enter the confrontation strengthened by their victories in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Golden State was able to pull off a solid victory against the Spurs, winning the game 112-102. The success was a return to normal for the Warriors, who in their previous outing suffered a shocking 126-113 loss to the Spurs.
Meanwhile, the Mavericks entered their Monday game with two straight wins, but they came away with three. They simply couldn’t be stopped as they easily beat Chicago 127-92 on the road. With the Mavericks ahead 62-42 at halftime, the game was already almost over.
The Mavericks earned their victory thanks to several key players, but it was Luka Doncic up front who had a triple-double with 27 points, 12 rebounds and 14 assists. Doncic hasn’t dipped below 26 points in 15 straight games. The team also received help from Derek Lively II, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Golden State’s victory improved its record to 34-30. As for Dallas, their victory improved their record to 37-28.
A high-performance offense is likely on the agenda, as both teams are among the highest-scoring teams in the league. The Warriors have had no problem running up the score this season, averaging 118.5 points per game. However, it’s not like the Mavericks struggled in that department as they averaged 119.1 points per game. With both teams so easily able to rack up points, the only question that remains is who can run up the score.
The Warriors hope to defy the odds on Wednesday as experts believe they are headed for a loss. Anyone considering them against the spread should keep this in mind: The team hasn’t covered the last four times they’ve faced Dallas.

Oddsmakers had a good idea of the line for this one, as the game opened with the Mavericks as 7.5-point favorites.
