Tyrese Haliburton finally seems to be turning the corner with his three-point shot. He went 4-for-8 from downtown in the Pacers’ win over Golden State the other day, the first time in over a month he shot that well from deep. The good news is that Indiana has managed to stay afloat during this stretch, they are 5-2 SU/ATS in their last 7 games and have covered the spread in 5 straight away. They head into tonight’s game against the Lakers hoping to avenge their season-ending tournament final loss in December. But achieving this will not be easy, the Lakers have a record of 5 victories in the last 7 meetings.

After back-to-back wins over Atlanta and Philadelphia, the Lakers hope to embark on a 6-game road trip with another triumph over an Eastern Conference opponent. It was a relatively easy win against the 76ers on Friday, we finally saw some defense from the Lakers who have struggled over their last 15 games to place in the bottom 5 in defensive rating. Anthony Davis did the heavy lifting with 23 points and 19 rebounds, the Lakers will hope they can do something similar tonight against the Pacers. Tonight’s game marks the start of a 6 game road trip for the Lakers, getting a win would do wonders for this team’s confidence.

I’m more in favor of supporting Indiana here. The Lakers have been suspect on defense for a while now, leading to losses to Golden State and Sacramento in 2 of their last 4 games. The Pacers will be hungry for revenge, so I say we back them as road underdogs here.
