THE Kings of Sacramento have taken over this month, winning eight of twelve outings in March and limiting their opponents to just 109.1 points per game, compared to 116.3 for the entire season. Sacramento’s defense isn’t the only highlight of its month, as the emergence of Keon Ellis and the domination of Domantas Sabonis were extraordinary.

Sabonis has been one of the most consistent players in the league this season, cementing himself as a top ten MVP candidate. The 27-year-old big man leads the league in double-doubles (66), triple-doubles (24) and rebounds per game (13.7).

In March, Sabonis averaged 20.3 points, 16.3 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game, on pace to be the best player in the world. second player in league history averaging 20/15/5 in a calendar month, joining only NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley (via @StatMamba|X).

In Saturday’s road win over the Magic of OrlandoSabonis finished with 21 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists, notching his 53rd consecutive triple-double to tie the NBA record set by Kevin Love in 2011. Sabonis is expected to break the record in Monday’s home game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

As long as Sabonis doesn’t seriously slow down his scoring in the final four games of the month, the star big man will join the Hall of Fame with the double-double record and 20/15/5 mark, making it a month of historic March. .
