The Golden State Warriors are dangerously close to missing the playoffs. They are currently 10th in the Western Conference with a one-game advantage over the Houston Rockets. Golden State’s loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday was its third loss in the last four games.
Steve Kerr’s side have struggled for consistency this season. Injuries and suspensions have both played their part in Golden State’s struggles. However, the truth is that their star trio of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green is past its prime.
During a recent episode of Sirius XM NBA Radio, former NBA champion Antonio Daniels noted that dynasties rarely have a fairy tale ending.
“They no longer have the organizational and collective trust that they once had,” Daniels said. “And on the other hand, teams don’t view the Golden State Warriors team the way they once did… Dynasties don’t collapse quietly. They don’t collapse gracefully. Usually when you have a dynasty… they don’t end well. Because you feel like this dynasty has to go on forever and something ends up happening… It’s very rare for dynasties to end in the best case scenario.
