1st quarter report
Fortunes could turn for Spurs after losing three times in a row. Sitting on a score of 29-22, they appear to be the better team, but there are still three quarters to play. They took a big blow to their ego last Saturday, so a win here would be a nice pick-me-up.
Spurs came into the match with extra motivation after the loss they suffered the last time these two teams faced each other. We’ll see if they are able to flip the script or if it will just be more of the same.

What there is to know
The Suns will play the full four quarters on Monday, but they should have things wrapped up well before then. They will hit the road to face the San Antonio Spurs at 8 p.m. ET at Frost Bank Center. The Spurs enter this competition hampered by three consecutive defeats, while the Suns will bounce back with three consecutive victories.
Winning is a little easier when you work as a team to make 11 more assists than your opponent, a fact the Suns proved on Saturday. They hurt San Antonio with a clear victory of 131-106. The Suns made it 103-71 late in the third, a deficit that the Spurs reduced but never really recovered from.
Kevin Durant and Devin Booker were among the Suns’ key playmakers as the former scored 25 points along with three steals and the latter nearly dropped a double-double with 32 points and nine assists. Durant didn’t help the Suns’ cause much against the Hawks on Thursday, but the same can’t be said for this game.
Phoenix has been performing well recently as they have won four of their last five games, which has resulted in a nice improvement to their 42-29 record this season. As for San Antonio, its loss was its third in a row at home, which dropped its record to 15-56.
Everything went in favor of the Suns against the Spurs in their previous meeting on Saturday as the Suns escaped with a 131-106 victory. Will the Suns repeat their success, or will the Spurs have a better game plan this time around? We’ll know soon enough.
