Mark Consuelos was recently confused with his “Live!” » his predecessor Regis Philbin while attending a New York Knicks game.
During Tuesday Taping of “Live With Kelly and Mark” Consuelos told his wife and co-host, Kelly Ripa, about his fun night at Madison Square Garden — including the funny moment a woman mistook him for the longtime TV host, who died in 2020.

Consuelos – who sat in court alongside Tracy Morgan and Chris Rock – defended the woman, saying he “knew what she meant”.
“She said to me: ‘He’s very muscular!’ And I say: “It’s Me!'” he teased, noting that she was “charming” despite the confusion.
In fact, the woman told Consuelos that she watches their show “every morning,” prompting him to promptly call her out.

Philbin, who has died aged 88, began hosting the beloved television program in 1988. alongside Kathie Lee Gifford.
Gifford eventually left the show in 2000 and the coveted position was given to Ripa the following season. The couple successfully hosted the show together for a decade until Philbin’s retirement in 2011.

Despite the jokes, Ripa told the audience that the reason for her lack of sleep was actually because of her husband’s “snoring” – no tissues.
Consuelos was snoring so loudly that Ripa tried to drown her out by playing a “Dateline” podcast on her “noise-cancelling headphones.”
“I couldn’t hear Keith Morrison because of the snoring, so I started shoving you, shaking you, and some light kicking and a little light slamming on the bed next to you, and you didn’t want to no, you couldn’t. [stop],” she says.
The couple met while filming “All My Children” in 1995 and we got married a year later.
