It might surprise fans of the Boston Celtics to learn that the player with the most career earnings in NBA history from the City of Cleveland, Ohio is a champion Celtics alumnus. That player just so happens to be 2008 titlist James Posey, who, according to a recent article by our sister site’s HoopsHype put together by their staff.
Posey earned a total of $57,051,806 during his time in the league, though only one of them happens to have been with Boston (he certainly picked the right season!). After winning the chip with the Celtics, he would decamp to the (then) New Orleans Hornets (now, Pelicans).
Other notable Cleveland native high earners in league history include Charles Oakley ($43,907,000), Ruben Patterson ($36,858,397), Earl Boykins ($16,544,862), and Omari Spellman ($5,508,600).
