This week, the NBA released the 2024-25 schedule for all 30 teams.
As expected, the The Philadelphia 76ers are poised to feature in a significant portion of prime-time games.
Although the Sixers narrowly missed the top five in terms of nationally televised games, they will appear in the seventh-most primetime games during the 2024-25 regular season with 21 total.
1. Los Angeles Lakers
Not so shocking. LeBron James still has massive appeal at this point in his career. The Lakers will appear in a league-high 29 nationally televised games as LeBron and the Lakers look to get back into title contention.
2. Boston Celtics
After all, they are the “world champions.” Looking to defend their NBA title in 2024-25, the Celtics remain a top team this year.
3. Golden State Warriors
Much like the Lakers, the Warriors continue their streak with one of the best basketball players of this generation. Team USA hero Steph Curry is looking to bring Golden State back to its glory days.
4. The New York Knicks
The New York Knicks have become one of the most exciting teams in the NBA, and they only added to the excitement this summer by acquiring Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets.
5. Dallas Mavericks
The Western Conference champions have one of the league’s most notable star duos in Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. As they look to make a similar run, NBA fans will get plenty of glimpses of Dallas this year.
6. Denver Nuggets
Denver’s market may be smaller, but the Nikola Jokic effect is real. The three-time MVP remains one of the NBA’s most promising players.
8. Phoenix Suns
At this point, the Suns have invested heavily in their stars, but it hasn’t translated well on the court. Regardless, players like Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal would be enough to put them on the big stage 19 times next year.
9. Minnesota Timberwolves
The small-market team was in a tight race to the top of the Western Conference last year, finishing one game out of a three-way tie for first place. The Timberwolves proved a lot last season and convinced the league they deserved 18 nationally televised games.
10. Milwaukee Bucks
Perhaps interest in the Bucks has been fading lately. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard are big names, but the Bucks’ consecutive playoff failures, combined with the progress of several Eastern Conference contenders, have often led to Milwaukee being left out of the conversation as one of the favorites to battle the Celtics for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.
THE Philadelphia 76ers on SI The show is available on streaming platforms Spotify, Apple and Amazon.
The Sixers and Bucks will share the international television stage on October 23 for the season opener. After kicking off in Milwaukee, the Sixers will return to the primetime stage in early November when they travel to Los Angeles to face the Clippers and Lakers.
