Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo isn’t shy about speaking his mind, especially during the offseason.
He seems to respond to at least one negative comment per week, and he consistently responds with hilarious responses. The latest one came from a user who wrote, “I’ve never seen this guy in a good mood, man,” in response to Adebayo’s post about the NBA 2K video game. The All-Star wasted no time in responding with a photo of Brooklyn Nets point guard Cam Thomas.
The answer seems a little confusing at first glance, but the public quickly figured out what Adebayo probably meant. In 2023, a reporter asked the Nets guard why he didn’t smile much, to which Thomas replied, “I don’t.” [expletive] funny.”

That’s the most likely reason for the Heat star’s response, as Adebayo didn’t find anything funny about being left out of 2K’s top five perimeter defenders.
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra faces the difficult decision of whether to focus his offensive efforts on either veteran star Jimmy Butler or All-Star Bam Adebayo.
Butler is entering the final year of his contract, meaning Adebayo is the safer option due to his long-term stability. The problem is, Butler has already led the Heat to multiple NBA Finals appearances at the helm of the offense.
An NBA scout spoke with Miami Heat’s Anthony Pasciolla On SI about why Adebayo might not even want to take on the role.
“I think Bam would rather be a Swiss Army knife. I don’t know if Bam wants to do that. [be the No. 1 option]”I think he’d be happy with numbers like 18, 12 and 6. You can see it sometimes, it’s not that he can’t be the man, it’s that I don’t have to be the man.
The scout also agreed to a statistical comparison with Alperen Sengun of the Houston Rockets. The Rockets center is productive in every facet of offense but lacks Adebayo’s defensive prowess. If the three-time All-Star can improve his playmaking and outside shooting, he will fully embody the Swiss Army knife role the scout mentioned.
