It’s no surprise that fans of Boston Celtics are not at all fans of the former Celtics point guard The NBA goalkeeper. Most don’t like him for the way he left Boston. Some don’t like his penchant for conspiracy theories; others for him reserve and anger towards the media. Others base their disgust on his position public health problems, sound processing of logos, or simply because he is in another team.

But it’s safe to say that the New Jersey native is among the biggest New England sports villains currently playing sports, regardless of the reason behind the animosity, perhaps even after the Celtics win Banner 18.

But where does he fit into the broader constellation of New England sports villains?

John Tomase, Tom Giles and Cedric Maxwell were joined by Phil Perry on NBS Sports Boston’s “Early Edition” to determine where Irving ranks as a hometown baddie while still with the Brooklyn Nets.
