The Minnesota Timberwolves have been a great story of the 2023-24 NBA season. After years of building through the draft, Tim Connelly made the big move by acquiring Rudy Gobert in 2022. The trade didn’t provide the immediate boost in production management had hoped for.

However, after a full season together, Karl-Anthony Towns and Gobert had a good feeling throughout their second year together. Anthony Edwards’ ever-improving performances undoubtedly played a big role for the Timberwolves as well. Nevertheless, Chris Finch’s team ultimately lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals.

On a recent episode of the “P with Paul George Podcast,” Towns defended his team’s playoff performance. He noted that the franchise has made significant strides to reach this point in the playoffs and that the experience will only serve to improve its approach moving forward.

“I don’t think it’s a disappointment in any way,” Towns said. “I think we said at the beginning of the year that we wanted to do something special … We obviously did something right. I think for us to get to that next step, it’s experience that’s allowed some people to win. Even the Boston Celtics that won this year had to go through a period where they lost in the Finals.”
