Lonzo Ball has missed the last two full NBA seasons with a knee injury, but the Chicago Bulls point guard has an encouraging outlook on his status about two months into the regular season.

Ball told TMZ that his recovery is progressing well and that he fully intends to play in the 2024-25 season.

“[Fans can expect] “I want to get back on the field,” Ball said. “That’s all I want to do.”

Of course, this isn’t a comprehensive interview, but Ball seems confident that he’ll be able to play at some point this year. There’s visual evidence that it’s possible, as we know. he at least started dunks again as part of his rehabilitation process.

Ball has undergone several knee surgeries, and there was talk at one point that he might not even be able to play anymoreIf he returns to the game, it would be a victory for him.

His potential role with the Bulls is unclear, however, as Coby White is coming off a breakout season and the team also traded for Josh Giddey this summer. has led to some speculation that Ball might have to return with a different team.
