The U.S. basketball team won a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics and Kevin Durant played a massive game. The Phoenix Suns star also tried his luck Dennis SchröderFIBA’s comment after beating France in the final, tweeting, “Entertainment and high IQ.” Brooklyn Nets The point guard, who played for Germany, said after the bronze medal game that European basketball was more about IQ than entertainment. KD decided to poke fun at him, but it didn’t seem like a big deal at the time.

GOOD, Schroder has clearly taken the comments on board openly, calling Durant “weak” during a recent Twitch stream:

“They won, and Kevin Durant tweets, ‘High IQ and entertainment.’ To me, that’s just weakness,” Schroder said. “You’re that kind of star, and you have to say something to a person like me who didn’t even mean it in a negative way. That’s just what I see from both sides, you know what I mean? I didn’t appreciate it.”

I don’t care, but at the end of the day, that tweet, or whatever he posted, was because of me. To me, it was never a negative thing. I respect all those guys, all GOATs, but to say that just shows me how weak he is as a person.

Tuesday morning, ESPN Stephen A. Smith completely destroyed Schroder for his remarks on Kevin Durant:

“What’s wrong with you? You have no right to call Kevin Durant ‘weak’. You attacked his manhood. How dare you say something like that about Kevin Durant?” [KD]. He doesn’t deserve this.

Kevin Durant’s resume speaks for itself

Stephen A. defended Durant, saying Schroder should have a lot more respect for one of the greatest players of all time. When it comes to the Olympics, KD is also in a league of his own. The veteran has now won three gold medals and is the all-time leading scorer for Team USA, surpassing Carmelo Anthony in Paris.

To be perfectly honest, Durant has every right to say whatever he wants after winning everything. We all know he likes to have fun on social media and troll fans and sometimes other players. I highly doubt KD meant anything by that and he probably didn’t expect Schroder to respond.

To say that Kevin Durant is weak, however, is wildly inaccurate. Look at his resume. Look at the type of basketball player and person he is. That’s really the worst word to describe the veteran. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see the Nets and Suns square off in 2024-25.
