CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Hornets are accepting applications for the public address announcer position for the 2024-25 NBA season.
Pat Doughty, Big Pat, was the Hornets’ longtime announcer for the past 20 years, but the team announced his passing last month.
“While we continue to grieve the loss of our beloved Pat Doughty, we are looking for someone who will continue his legacy – with the same passion and energy he brought to the arena each night,” said Shelly Cayette-Weston, Hornets President of Business Operations. “Big Pat will always be a part of the Charlotte Hornets organization, and we look forward to honoring his dynamic spirit in whoever we choose as our public address announcer to carry the torch.”
