Toronto Raptors rookie Jamal Shead hasn’t played a single game in the NBA yet, but he may know the game better than anyone.

In a video posted to TikTok earlier this month by the popular account bebida.tailgate, Shead was tasked with naming all sorts of general knowledge questions about the NBA.

When asked to name the all-time greats in points, assists, blocks, rebounds, double-doubles (since 2000), points by a European, three-pointers in the 1990s, Defensive Player of the Year awards, points as a backup, shortest player of all time, most points in the 1980s and the league’s first black and female coaches, Shead met the challenge with almost no mistakes, getting every answer on his first or second try.

With the 45th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings drafted the college star from Houston, before immediately sending him to Toronto in a multi-player trade that saw Jalen McDaniels do the opposite.

A 6-foot-1 guard, Shead was named the Big 12 Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in his final season at UH. He averaged 12.9 points and 6.3 assists in his final season.

While it’s unclear how he’ll fare in his first NBA season, Shead will likely have a good chance of winning any trivia contests the Raptors might throw at him.

The Raptors will hold training camp in Montreal in October, while playing a pre-season game there on October 6, with Shead looking to make an impact in his first NBA action.

Meanwhile, the Raptors regular season schedule finally dropped last week, with Toronto kicking off at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Oct. 23.
