Enjoy jazz at dinner

The community is invited to enjoy dinner and a jazz performance at the RJ Haney Heritage Village and Museum next week.

The Salmon Arm Jazz Club is partnering with the Heritage Village for an evening of jazz in the park as local band Jazz Implication performs on Thursday, August 29.

Guests can enjoy a gourmet burger from the Sprig of Heather restaurant in the heritage village while enjoying the best jazz in the Shuswap.

The Jazz Implication features Liam Nadurak on trumpet, guitarists Jordan Dick and Dan Smith, Jake McIntyre-Paul on bass and Will Friesen on drums.

The group is known for its interpretations of jazz standards as well as its original material.

Nadurak said the group’s name came from a newspaper headline.

“It’s a bit of a random story,” he said. “I think Will [Friesen] I saw an article about the Utah Jazz sports team and the headline was about a player hinting that he might be traded.

“It was around this time that we wanted to move away from the name Liam Nadurak Quartet, because it wasn’t just my band anymore.”

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased in person or by phone at 250-832-5243. The ticket includes dinner and local beer, wine and cider are available for purchase.

Music starts at 5pm, with meal service from 5:30pm to 6:30pm
