As the The Philadelphia 76ers As they continue to move through the 2024 offseason and toward training camp in the Bahamas, the youngsters are beginning to focus on what can be done to earn a spot in coach Nick Nurse’s rotation.

The competition to play and be in the rotation will be fierce under Nurse. This is a team with championship expectations and the Sixers will be counting on players they trust in big situations. Therefore, it will be a challenge for guys like Jared McCain, Ricky IV CouncilAnd Adem Bona play consistently.

However, the Council hopes to gain a place thanks to the work it has done over the summer. interview with the Philadelphia InquirerThe Council stated:

“This summer has been really busy, maybe even more than last year,” Council said, “keeping my shooting level high, working on different finishing moves, just learning the game, playing against good competition every day.

“All of this will help me in the long run.”

Council averaged 5.4 points and 1.4 rebounds in 32 games as an undrafted rookie during the 2023-24 season. He entered Philadelphia on a two-way contract and could earn a standard contract by the end of the season, so the Sixers will look to see what he can do in his second season.
