James Harden has been with the LA Clippers for almost 10 months now and it’s safe to say that he has won over a good portion of the fan base. During the Clippers’ hot streak in December and January of last season, he played a key role in the team’s consistency and helped them become one of the best teams in the conference during that time.

But it must also be acknowledged that Harden is not the player he once was. He used to be a player who could score from anywhere on the court and draw a lot of attention from defenses. But the natural aging process (combined with injuries) has taken its toll on his body.

Of course, he is still a more than decent player. However, the Latest Edition of NBA 2K Notes don’t seem to be so optimistic about him. With the release of the NBA 2K25 ratings this week, it was revealed that Harden earned an overall rating of 84.

The score marks a five-point drop from last year’s edition of the game and represents its lowest overall score since 2K13 dropped in 2012. TV anchor Jason Bristol of KHOU 11 News Houston recently publicly asked James if he had any thoughts on his admittedly low grade.

“No, I won’t,” Harden said. “I’ll show them on the court. I don’t really care about the score.” An appropriate response, especially for a former league MVP. Harden knows what he brings to the table and is as aware as anyone that game developers sometimes get it completely wrong.

Frankly, I don’t think James would care if 2K gave him a 65 overall rating if he could prove himself wrong the following season. On-court success is the only thing that really matters, and Harden knows he’ll be respected if he can do that.
