Maya Moore Irons fills ballots with Timberwolves, Lynx

Moore Irons participated in a community conversation focused on the importance of voting and the power of local engagement

MINNEAPOLIS and ST. PAUL – Minnesota Lynx legend Maya Moore Irons, along with her husband Jonathan Irons, participated in a community conversation Friday night as part of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx event.Wrap up the vote” platform.

Moderated by Elizer Darris, Founder and CEO of The Darris Group, Moore Irons and Jonathan, author and social justice advocate, joined fellow panelists Antonio Williams, Founder and Co-Executive Director of TONEUP Inc, and Paul Sullivan, Organizer for the ACLU Minnesota for an evening of inspiring and informative conversation. Focused on the importance of voting, the panel discussed the true power of local engagement and the impact that local government and policy have on individuals and communities.

“I’ve tried to educate myself and use my voice responsibly,” Moore Irons said. “Just because we have a voice doesn’t mean we have to speak all the time. Let’s use our voice because we have something good to offer.”

The Timberwolves and Lynx “Pack the Vote” platform is an ongoing annual initiative to help Timberwolves and Lynx fans, as well as the greater Twin Cities community, stay informed about local and national elections, provide educational and bipartisan resources to voters and encourage individuals to make their voices heard at the polls.
