Former Miami Heat star Chris Bosh participated and actually played a game celebrating the career of his teammate Goran Dragic In Slovenia, that night was called “The Night of the Dragon.” Speaking to the media during the event, Bosh revealed the offers he could have received to play in Europe after being forced to retire from the Heat and the NBA as a whole due to health concerns related to blood clots.

EuroHoops’ Cesare Milanti posted a video on his X account, formerly Twitter, where he asked Bosh if he had ever thought about playing in Europe. The two-time NBA champion from Miami said there were offers, but “was not able” to do so because it would involve moving his entire family to another continent, especially when his children were very young at the time.

“I had offers from Europe,” Bosh said. “But the timing was right. I wasn’t in a situation where I wanted to leave and move my family. I had babies at the time. I took that as a sign and kept moving forward. But I had a few offers. It wasn’t Greece. Spain, France. The Euroleague.”

For his excellence, Bosh is one of the franchise’s greatest players and his jersey has been retired at the Kaseya Center, but his career was still cut short due to the aforementioned health issues, which he candidly described as “difficult.”

“It was very hard,” Bosh said of the end of his career. “To be honest, it pretty much ended my career. Any time you deal with a loss or a death, you go through grieving. And I had to do that for a few years, but I got over it. I think it made me stronger. It allowed me to focus more on being a father.”
