One of the most entertaining players of the last decade with the Los Angeles Lakers was point guard Josh Hart. Hart could do a little bit of everything on the court, which made him a valuable member of the team.

But when the opportunity arose for the Lakers to sign star big man Anthony Davis, involving Hart in the deal became an easy choice. Hart was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans along with a few other players from Los Angeles and he spent a few seasons in New Orleans.

Hart, now with the New York Knicks, has had some time to reflect on his career. During an appearance on The Rommates Show podcast, Hart said he doesn’t think anyone could say he was thrilled about being traded to New Orleans.

I don’t think you’ll ever hear anyone say they were excited to be traded to New Orleans.

He clarified that by saying he loved his time with the Pelicans. However, moving from Los Angeles to New Orleans is quite a change of scenery.

New Orleans is one of the smallest markets in the United States, which gives Hart a very different lifestyle. Upon hearing Hart’s news, new Pelicans point guard Dejoute Murray spoke out.

He was just traded to the Pelicans from the Atlanta Hawks and had some thoughts on the matter.

Murray was once a top target for the Lakers, with the Hawks even nearly trading him to Los Angeles at the last trade deadline. Now that he’s in New Orleans, it seems Murray is doing everything he can to attract his new fans.

Hart has found a new home in New York, but his time with the Lakers is a memorable one for him. Even though he wasn’t part of a winning team in Los Angeles, he’ll always be able to say he was a member of the Lakers.

He spent two seasons with the Lakers, averaging 7.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game in his senior year. Hart was traded to the Lakers on draft night in 2017 and the bond was formed.

The veteran guard has always dreamed of a great career and he is now a valuable piece of the Knicks puzzle. He and the Knicks should be one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference this season and many Lakers fans would still like to have him on the roster.
