The NBA recently released its regular season schedulebringing a slight spark to the dog days of the off-season, but the off-season is in full swing until training camps open in early October.

We asked fans on social media to send their questions to the nonconformists and what intrigues them as the season approaches. If you have any, send them to [email protected] or to @MikeACurtis2 on Twitter/X, and we’ll post them as we respond.

We got questions about Dallas’ offseason moves, which included the acquisitions of Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall and Quentin Grimes; the health of Luka Doncic after an injury-riddled postseason; and more.

Here is the answer to a question about Olivier-Maxence Prosperthe potential to compete for a rotation spot.

Is O-Max [Prosper] break the rotation? – @KennethPar49290

The Mavericks certainly hope so. Assistant coach Jared Dudley shared that aspiration on the first day of practice for last month’s NBA Summer League.

“Our job here, and my job here so far, is to show [Prosper] “He’s improving from year one to year two, hoping to become a rotation player,” Dudley said.

Dudley pointed Proper Decision Making as a determining factor in getting more minutes for the second-year forward. His versatility on both ends of the floor stood out in his rookie season. He’s athletic and can finish at the basket, which is what you want next to a trio of players like Doncic, Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson. The Mavericks also like Prosper’s ball-handling ability, but he tends to speed up in moments where he might need to slow down and assess the situation.

There will be plenty of opportunities for Prosper to get a shot in the rotation, especially if he proves worthy during training camp and throughout the season. We also can’t rule out potential opportunities due to injuryHe’ll be behind PJ Washington and Naji Marshall on the Mavericks’ depth chart, but the Mavericks would ultimately like to see Prosper emerge as a consistent piece in the rotation.
