New York Knicks guard Donte DiVincenzo played a big role for the team last season, his first in the Big Apple.

DiVincenzo signed a four-year deal worth about $50 million last summer, and he responded by having the best season of his career so far. DiVincenzo averaged 15.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per game with the Knicks last season while shooting just over 40 percent from beyond the three-point line.

That’s why Bleacher Report reporter Eric Pincus named DiVincenzo the fourth-best contract in the NBA right now.

“The Knicks get their second starter with another Villanova Wildcat in Donte DiVincenzo, who signed a four-year, $49.9 million contract (including an unlikely $750,000 in incentives each season) in July 2023,” Pincus writes. “DiVincenzo is scheduled to make $12 million per season over the next three years, an exceptional price for the Knicks for a part-time (or full-time) starter whose role has grown with injuries to his teammates. The 6-foot-4, 27-year-old point guard averaged 15.5 points per game while shooting 40.1 percent for New York in the regular season. That percentage increased to 17.8 on 42.5 percent during the Knicks’ playoff run.”

The only players with higher spots than DiVincenzo on the list were Indiana Pacers forward Aaron Nesmith, Orlando Magic power forward Jonathan Isaac and Oklahoma City Thunder power forward Aaron Wiggins.

DiVincenzo’s offensive production could dip slightly in the 2024-25 season with the arrival of Mikal Bridges and a full season from OG Anunoby, but that doesn’t change the fact that he has one of the best contracts in the league, and that’s not likely to change anytime soon. The Knicks are getting tremendous value out of him, and if he continues to play this well over the life of his contract, he should expect a nice raise when he hits the open market again.
