PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — The Portland Trail Blazers announced that assistant general manager Sergi Oliva has been named head coach of the Rip City Remix, the Blazers’ G-League affiliate.
“Oliva brings extensive coaching experience to the Remix bench as he served as an assistant coach for two seasons with the Utah Jazz from 2020-22,” the team said in a press release.
Oliva worked for the Philadelphia 76ers as a basketball analyst in 2014 and held a dual role as front office strategist and coach under coach Brett Brown from 2017-2020.
Oliva will resume the role of assistant general manager at the end of the G-League season.
