The LA Clippers have made some changes after the unexpected loss of Paul George, but the team feels like it still has a lot to do. One of them is finding a way to trade veteran PJ Tucker.

In a business idea proposed by Brett Siegel of ClutchpointsOne scenario calls for Tucker to go to the Houston Rockets as part of a multi-team trade.

Clippers host: Defensive end Dorian Finney-Smith

Nets receive: G Bones Hyland, C Jock Landale, LAC 2030 1st round pick (unprotected)

Rockets receive: F PJ Tucker

In this scenario, the Clippers would receive a fantastic two-way player in Dorian Finney-Smith while giving up two players who wanted more playing time in Bones Hyland and P.J. Tucker. However, LA would also have to give up a first-round pick, something they would likely be hesitant to do.

The Brooklyn Nets would part ways with highly coveted Dorian Finney-Smith, but they would receive a nice piece in Bones Hyland. In all likelihood, the Nets could likely keep Smith for a higher package with more draft picks.

The Houston Rockets would actually give up Jock Landale for PJ Tucker. It’s hard to understand why the Rockets would want Tucker’s $11 million contract salary. They would essentially be adding an extra $3 million to the salary after adding Tucker.

It remains to be seen if the Clippers will make any more moves before the season starts, but one would have to imagine they are still trying to move Tucker.
