Minnesota Timberwolves fans are still grateful to have Anthony Edwards at the helm of their shipThe 23-year-old is one of the NBA’s brightest young stars, and he’s a big reason Minnesota is currently in contention for a championship.

Ant has only been in the NBA for four seasons and he has already put up some remarkable individual numbers. Outsiders who only watch highlights may not realize how versatile a player Edwards is. He impacts the game at a high level on both ends of the floor thanks to his athleticism and excellent instincts.

En route to the Timberwolves becoming a Western Conference powerhouse, Edwards has put up some eye-popping performances, including some impressive numbers. Here, we’ll take a look at Ant’s career highs in each of the major scoreboard categories.

51 points against the Wizards – 2024

In one of the Timberwolves’ final regular-season games of the 2023-24 regular season, Edwards put on a show to help Minnesota earn its 55th win of the year. Playing at home against Washington, Ant shot 17-of-29 and made six three-pointers, which helped him surpass the 50-point mark for the first time in his career. This likely won’t be Edwards’ last 50-point game given his prowess as a scoring pro.

14 rebounds against the Raptors – 2023

In the Timberwolves’ season opener in October 2023, Ant had a career-high tying 14 rebounds in Toronto. Minnesota lost the game, but Edwards’ rebounding kept them in it until the very end. Some may forget that while Ant’s stature is that of a guard, he is extremely strong and can win the inside battle for a rebound more than some people realize. His childhood in football may have something to do with it.

12 assists against Spurs – 2024

In January 2024, while playing in San Antonio, Edwards had 12 assists in a close loss to the Spurs. He had three times as many assists as the Timberwolves’ second-leading passer that night. We’ve seen Ant gradually improve as a playmaker over the course of his career.

6 interceptions against the Pacers – 2022

Timberwolves fans probably remember Anthony Edwards’ incredible game-saving block last season when they think of his big performance against the Pacers. But in December 2022, he dominated in a different category, racking up six total steals at Target Center against Indiana.

4 blocks against the Pelicans – 2023

Ant has managed to block four times in a game twice in his career, most recently against the Pelicans in the final game of the 2022-23 regular season. It was a game with big playoff implications, and Edwards had a monstrous defensive performance.
