The 2024-25 Indiana Pacers season begins next month and there will be plenty of individual milestones to watch throughout the season. Last year, Myles Turner set Indiana’s franchise record for total blocks.
“It’s emotional, man. I’m not going to cry, but it’s emotional,” Turner said of getting the record. “I hope it stays around for a long time.”
This year, it’s extremely unlikely that any member of Indiana’s roster will set a franchise career record. But there are a few players who could crack the top 10 in some major category, and there are a few members of the team who are approaching either 1,000 or 10,000 in a key statistic and could reach that mark this season.
Tyrese Haliburton
Haliburton is 158 assists shy of ranking in the top 10 in Pacers franchise history. He set the Indiana record record for assists in a season last year, and using his 2023-24 assists per game numbers, he’ll enter the blue and gold’s top 10 in assists after about 15 games.
“It’s a really great accomplishment for me. I think it’s a testament to the high-level offense that we’ve been able to create here,” Haliburton said of the single-season assists mark.
The star guard is also 22 three-pointers away from moving into the top 10 in Pacers franchise history. That shouldn’t take long, as should grabbing 40 rebounds, which would give him 1,000 rebounds for his career.
TJ McConnell
McConnell, like Haliburton, is approaching Indiana’s top 10 in assists. He needs just 15 assists to reach that top 10, meaning he’ll likely get there before Haliburton. With last year’s averages, McConnell would need about three games.
Indiana’s ninth-place finish in assists is just 42 more than tenth, so Haliburton and McConnell will almost certainly both be on that list by the end of the season. It will be fun to see how long McConnell can contain Haliburton.
Myles Turner
Turner is already in every Indiana record book. This season, he’ll get in there again.
The franchise veteran is 1,477 minutes away from cracking the Pacers’ top 10 in minutes played in franchise history. He’s already ninth in games played and most of the time he reaches 1,500 minutes in a campaign.
Turner is also 122 rebounds away from a top-10 spot on the Blue and Gold team. That will likely take him about 18 games.
Pascal Siakam
Siakam is 253 points shy of 10,000 career points. With his scoring average from last year, that number would be reached in about 12 outings.
Obi Toppin
When Toppin hauls in his 87th rebound this season, he will have reached 1,000 in his career. At last year’s pace, that would have taken him about 23 appearances.
James Wiseman
The new Pacer has 829 career rebounds, which puts him at 171 out of 1,000. It’s unclear how long he’ll play for the blue and gold, but Indiana’s third big man last year was Isaiah Jackson — he grabbed 238 rebounds in 2023-24. Wiseman could reach that milestone at some point this season.
Aaron Nesmith
Nesmith needs 232 rebounds to reach 1,000 in his career. He’s reached over 270 in each of the last two seasons, so it’s possible. It would take about 61 games at last season’s rebounding average for Nesmith to reach that milestone in 2024-25.
