Memphis Grizzlies All-Star Jaren Jackson Jr. appeared on The Chris Vernon Show from Grind City Media Wednesday, where the forward spoke about his offseason, his education and the upcoming NBA season.

During the interview, Jackson Jr. gave his thoughts on the basketball he watches now and as a kid, and revealed how much he “loved” the Oklahoma City Thunder. During his trips out of the country this offseason, Jackson Jr. admitted to watching old basketball highlights, from the Tracy McGrady era to the Golden State Warriors-Oklahoma City Thunder battles.

“The first Golden State and Oklahoma City Thunder games, I watch them,” Jackson Jr. said. “The ones after that, when I was in the league, I watched them on video, I had already seen them in a different way. The others are more nostalgic.”

“I look back on Christmas Day, like highlights of those old games, I remember when the Thunder were playing the Heat and [The Thunder] lost and [Kendrick Perkins] I have a technology, [Russell Westbrook] I have a technician, I have a technician sitting in my room, I felt angry…[I was a] “I’m a big Thunder fan, man,” Jackson Jr. admitted with a laugh.

It should come as no surprise that a 24-year-old grew up falling in love with the Westbrook- and Durant-era Thunder that captivated a national audience during his time in Bricktown.
