Al McCoy, an Iowa native and radio voice of the Phoenix Suns for 51 seasons, died Saturday at age 91.
McCoy was the longest-serving announcer on an NBA crew. He retired in Might 2023.
McCoy was born on a farm close to Williams in Hamilton County. He started his profession in 1951 at KJFJ radio, now KQWC. McCoy labored at stations in Iowa and across the nation earlier than beginning with the Phoenix Suns. McCoy additionally spent 4 seasons saying baseball video games for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
