After winning their first consecutive winning streak since the end of January, the Memphis Grizzlies find themselves heading into their Friday night matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers in the midst of a modest three-game losing streak, with their most recent loss coming in a tough contest. against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Although Taylor Jenkins’ team is almost certain to be playing for a high-end lottery pick rather than its usual top seed for a playoff spot, even during this low-success campaign, she still managed to stay competitive and give fans a reason to tune in on a consistent basis.

Now, heading into their next game against the Blazers, Michael Wallace of Grind City Media believes the Grizzlies have an “opportunity” to deliver even more excitement to fans, as they could start March on a high note with a win in front of their home crowd.

“Get back to winning ways! You have a chance to eliminate a team that is struggling much more than you, still dealing with their own injuries, and [who have] some growing pains. This is your chance to reward your home fans with the same energy and effort you showed in Minnesota, but bring them back here to wash away the taste of Monday’s performance against the Brooklyn Nets. ยป

As it stands, the Grizzlies and Blazers are both tied for a win each in their four-game series heading into the next contest. So far, Memphis holds a +10 point differential in its two matchups and is posting sensational overall averages of 112.5 points, 48.5 rebounds, 28.0 assists, 7.0 steals and 8.5 blocks on 49.7% shooting from the floor.

Friday night also marks the first of a back-to-back for Memphis, both against Portland and at home, their first game against each other this season in the 38103. Unfortunately for this game, Jenkins’ club didn’t have not played yet. This has proven to be very effective when playing at home this year, even against sub-.500 teams, as they hold a modest 3-5 record in such situations.

Hopefully they can end this two-game streak with a few wins added to that record and, in turn, start March off on the right foot.
