Trash-talking is a fiery art form, and those who practice it best are known for their talent and ability to speak openly and belittle their opponents or detractors at any time.
Enter Minnesota Timberwolves guard and gold medalist Anthony Edwardswho has become one of the NBA’s stars not only for his play but also for his light-hearted criticism, particularly of Olympic teammate Kevin Durant and analyst Charles Barkley.
When asked how his generation of basketball players differed from older generations, Edwards, 23, had more than a few thoughts on the old-school NBA, particularly that of the 1990s.
“I didn’t watch it at the time, so I can’t speak to it,” Edwards told the Wall Street Journal.
Edwards then continued to talk about it.
All about the T-Wolves: Latest Minnesota Timberwolves news, schedule, roster, stats, injury updates and more.
“They say it was harder back then than it is now, but I don’t think anybody had talent back then,” he said. “(Michael Jordan) was the only one that really had talent, you know what I mean? That’s why when they saw Kobe (Bryant), they were like, ‘Oh, my God.’ But now, everybody’s got talent.”

Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas hit back at Edwards on social media, saying, “Propaganda works, so be careful what you choose to believe.”
Edwards also had some thoughts on the championships:
“I don’t know many players who have won a title at a young age, other than Kobe,” Edwards said. “Other than him, everyone else has wasted years and years to get there. I just want to keep moving forward.”
And if he is bad at something:
“I haven’t found it yet,” he said.
