A 2-0 start to the season didn’t fool most Sooners fans. The standards are higher. Throughout the game, they expressed frustration with an incompetent offense. A narrow victory isn’t a strong enough scent to mask the offensive struggles.
OU struggled to move the ball against Houston. A surprise considering the quality of the opponent. How will it fare against the SEC powerhouses? The thought sends chills down the spines of most OU fans.
Things don’t look great in Norman right now. But there’s still plenty of time to turn things around. Brent Venables wasn’t happy with the performance despite the win. Maybe they’ll turn things around.

The Thunder are coming off a first-place finish. They reloaded in the offseason with veteran additions. Many consider OKC a title favorite. After years of rebuilding, OKC opened the title window last season.
That should excite the local fans and make up for another likely up-and-down season for the Sooners. College football is king in Oklahoma, but that shouldn’t justify an NBA title contender being overlooked by its fans. Last year, home attendance was low for most of the season through March. That shouldn’t be the case this year.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren And Jalen Williams The Thunder are talented and entertaining enough to keep fans engaged throughout the 2024-25 season, not just once the NBA playoffs begin. Oklahoma’s struggles could be a win for the Thunder if fans make better use of their free time.
