PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns I won’t see Atlanta Falcons guard Trae Young tonight, as the star guard was ruled out with a torn ligament in his left finger.
Young is still recovering from surgery three weeks ago following a specific tear of the radial collateral ligament (RCL) in the fifth finger of his left hand. His scheduled schedule is four weeks, which should knock him out of the game for the next few games.
“You feel bad for Trae more than anything,” Hawks coach Quin Snyder said previously. “It’s going to be a challenge for him not to be out there.
” You have to adapt. That happened when we lost Jalen (Johnson). We need to get minutes from Kobe (Bufkin) and Patty (Mills) and we obviously know what (Dejounte Murray) can do. I don’t want to wallow in anything.
Before his injury, Young was averaging 26.4 points and 10.8 assists per game.
Wesley Matthews (illness) is questionable while Jalen Johnson (right ankle injury), Saddiq Bey (left knee ACL tear), Kobe Bufkin (left big toe sprain), AJ Griffin (right ankle sprain), Mouhamed Gueye (right MCL sprain), and Young (torn left fifth finger ligament) were previously ruled out.
Since the Suns are back-to-back, Phoenix has not yet released its injury report.
