Basketball Corridor of Famer Isiah Thomas revealed this week on the “Come And Speak 2 Me” podcast that he suffers from Bell’s palsy.

“I’ve gotten numerous love from individuals saying, ‘Properly, Isiah’s sick. What’s he going via?’ Thomas stated on the present hosted by former NBA level guard and ESPN broadcaster Marc Jackson and his son. “I haven’t actually advised anybody, however I’ve Bell’s palsy. …That is why you see me like that. I recognize the prayers and love. That is what’s occurring with my mouth proper now. I simply wished everybody to know.

Showing on NBA TV pregame present Friday night, Thomas stated this situation was solely non permanent.

“As you understand, I’ve somewhat Bell’s Palsy,” Thomas stated. “I’ll deal with it. I introduce myself. I am not taking off, however I simply wished to let everybody know that I recognize your prayers and thanks for every part. They stated it was a short lived situation. It can get higher with time. However thanks for sticking with me.

Based on the Mayo ClinicBell’s palsy causes muscle weak spot on one aspect of the face and is commonly a short-term situation that ultimately improves.

Thomas’ revelation comes months after the Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid was identified with Bell’s palsy through the staff’s playoff run final spring.

Thomas performed for the Detroit Pistons from 1981 to 1994, then coached the Indiana Pacers, New York Knicks and Florida Worldwide College. He received two NBA titles, was a 12-time All-Star and a member of three All-NBA First Groups. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Corridor of Fame in 2000.
