According to Grant Hughes of Bleacher ReportSan Antonio Spurs star center Victor Webanyama has a good chance of winning the NBA Triple Crown next season. Last season, Webanyama was named Rookie of the Year and a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year.
The NBA Triple Crown is being named MVP, DPOY, and making the All-NBA First Team. Wemby certainly has a chance to do that, as he was dominant in his rookie year. He averaged 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, four assists, three and a half blocks, and one steal per game.
As for his distinctions, in addition to those mentioned above, he was part of the All-Rookie team, the All-Defensive team and he was the blocking champion.
Wemby will definitely be a first-team All-NBA player next year, and probably a DPOY. MVP is also a possibility, but he’ll have to compete against the best of the best, like Luka Doncic, who should really blow up the league this year, and players like Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokic, Jayson Tatum, and Jaylen Brown.
Either way, Wemby is sure to have a monstrous second season, and the league should be scared.
