We asked you about biggest surprises and disappointments of the season so far. Below you will find the results of this survey. There was also a league-wide poll that yielded some interesting results (described below).
Starting with the biggest surprises:

Kristaps certainly fits in perfectly with this team. Not only does it accentuate what they already did well, but it also adds several dimensions they didn’t have before. He is the “curve ball” that Mazzulla has talked about at length this offseason.

Despite some recent losses, the team remains at the top of the standings at 48-14, so it’s no surprise that there aren’t many disappointments this season (so far). As always, it comes down to what happens in the playoffs.

This result came from a league-wide poll and I was a little surprised by how tall Jayson Tatum was here. Many analysts have talked about SGA and Doncic as being ranked ahead of Tatum. Like I keep saying, if I had to pick one, I’d rather him win Finals MVP.

Finally, a very interesting result from the league-wide survey. Mazzulla gets more than 1⁄3 results are significant. Sure, he has a stacked roster, but he’s gotten them to buy in and realize their potential (so far). Often, it comes down to a team exceeding preseason expectations. Maybe people weren’t really sold on Boston’s chances before the season. Regardless, it will be interesting to see how the actual rewards play out.
