PHOENIX – The shots continue to be exchanged between Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant and Brooklyn Nets guard Dennis Schroder.
Schroder, who represented Germany, made some interesting comments during the Olympics that many interpreted as attacks on the American team:
“European basketball is not entertainment, it’s pure basketball, pure coaching. Guys with really high IQs who know how to play. Serbia, Greece, Spain, France, Germany, there are so many teams that know how to play, that are athletic, and I think there are a lot of people from Europe in the NBA that are making noise.”
After winning gold, Durant posted the following message on Twitter/X in response:

During a recent Twitch stream, Schroder responded (Thanks to Bleacher Report):
“You’re that kind of star, and you have to say something to a person like me who didn’t even mean for it to be negative. That’s just what I see from both sides, you know what I mean? I didn’t appreciate it. I don’t care, but at the end of the day, that tweet, or whatever he posted, it was because of me. To me, it was never anything negative. I respect all those guys, all GOATs, but to say that shows me how weak he is as a person.”
Phoenix will face Brooklyn fairly early in the 2024-25 season, with their first matchup taking place on November 27. They will play once more on January 22.
