Half-time report
The Pelicans are on the road but don’t seem to be in any worse shape. They have a bit of a lead as they currently lead the Nets 64-45.
If the Pelicans continue to play like this, they will reach their record of 42-26 in no time. On the other hand, the Nets will have to settle for a 26-43 record unless they turn things around (and quickly).

What there is to know
The Pelicans have played three games at home but will have to dust off their road jerseys soon. They and the Brooklyn Nets will face off at 7:30 p.m. ET on March 19 at Barclays Center without much rest after finishing games yesterday. The Nets suffered a loss in their last game and will look to turn things around against the Pelicans, who are coming off a win.
You’re bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent in every quarter, and that’s exactly how it happened for the Pelicans on Saturday. Everything went well against Portland as New Orleans won 126-107. The Pelicans were heavily favored in this contest, and the results show why.
The Pelicans’ victory was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from CJ McCollum, who scored 30 points along with eight assists and two steals. McCollum didn’t help the Pelicans’ cause much against the Clippers on Friday, but the same can’t be said for this contest. Zion Williamson was another key contributor, posting a double-double with 26 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, the Nets fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Spurs on Sunday, but ended up with a less than desirable result. They suffered a 122-115 hit in the loss column at the hands of the Spurs. The Nets’ loss continues a disappointing trend for the team, making it the third loss in a row.
The Nets’ loss came despite a quality game from Cameron Thomas, who scored 31 points along with five assists and two steals.
New Orleans has been on a hot streak lately: They’ve won six of their last seven games, significantly improving to 41-26 this season. As for Brooklyn, they dropped their record to 26-42 with this loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Tuesday’s contest is shaping up to be a blast: the Pelicans simply can’t miss this season, hitting 48.9 percent of their shots per game. It’s a different story for the Nets, as they’ve made just 45.9 percent of their shots this season. Given the Pelicans’ considerable advantage in this area, the Nets will need to find a way to close that gap.
The Pelicans won against the Nets in the teams’ last game in January by a conclusive 112-85. With the Pelicans ahead 59-34 at halftime, the game was already almost over.
