Michael Porter Jr. has seen his younger brother Jontay on the bench in NBA games before, but he never had the chance to face him 1-on-1 on the court in a professional game until see you this week. In 2021, MPJ and the Denver Nuggets faced the Memphis Grizzlies and Jontay. I have a few minutes on the field for Memphis at the very end of the match. But on Monday night, Jontay – now in Toronto – saw extended playing time and there were several brother-on-brother moments.
Jontay scored a career-high 14 points in the game. Denver is done defeat Toronto 125-119.
“I was really happy for Jontay,” said Porter Jr. “Not only his presence on the court, but the way he played. It was a special moment to be out there together.”
After the match, the Porter brothers exchanged jerseys.
