The Milwaukee Bucks are in Chicago tonight for their fourth and final matchup of the season against the Bulls. The Bucks are slowly starting to find some consistency back in the Doc Rivers era, winning four in a row and hoping for number five tonight. The Bulls have won two of their last three games, including big wins over Cleveland and New Orleans.

Every competition between the two has been quite competitive. The Bucks took first thanks to an explosive first quarter. However, they were outplayed or tied in every subsequent quarter. The teams split the next two games – both of which went to overtime. Despite the injuries the Bulls suffer from and the abundance of talent the Bucks have, they seem to fit together well.

The Bulls will look to avoid dropping the season series to the Bucks tonight starting at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN. Given how close all of their contests have been and how well both teams have been playing lately, this contest has the chance to be as competitive as any other on the schedule.

Milwaukee Bucks betting news and analysis

The Bucks’ biggest problem this season has been defense. Even with their strong 30-13 start to the season, they were one of the worst defensive teams in the league. Currently, they are 19th in points given up per contest, allowing 117.4. That’s down thanks to their recent hot streak. Before their last four games, they were closer to 24th in the NBA in points per game allowed.

Since the return of the All-Star break, the Bucks have only allowed one of their four opponents to score 100 points. It was the Minnesota Timberwolves in their first game after the break, which the Bucks won 112-107. The next three games were against the 76ers and a back-to-back against Charlotte. The 76ers are 13th in the league in points per game, but that’s with Joel Embiid on the court. Charlotte is 28th in the league at just 107.5 per game.

Neither do the offensive heavyweights. So while there are signs that they are improving on that side of the ball, they will need to maintain that pace against high-quality offenses to prove that they are connecting on that side of the ball.

Chicago Bulls betting news and analysis

Even though they’re just 2-2 since the All-Star break, the Bulls’ starting five is on a roll. In all but one game, the starters all scored in double figures. The only game where they didn’t all score in double figures was in a disappointing loss to the Pistons, in which they went 2-for-29 from deep in a 10-point loss. If they avoid another night of terrible shooting from deep, they should provide a solid offensive test for what appears to be an emerging quality defense in Milwaukee.

However, they may have to go full throttle without Caruso, who missed the last game with a hamstring injury. He is once again listed as questionable for tonight’s game. The Bulls have been forced to play without some of their best players all season long, and this is just their latest adjustment that they have already proven they can handle.

The game Caruso recently missed resulted in a 132-123 double overtime win over the Cavs. Every Bulls starter scored in double figures, including Andre Drummond, who slipped into the starting lineup to counter Cleveland’s two big men.

Bucks vs. Bulls ATS Prediction

Instead of putting another guard in the lineup to replace Caruso during his absence, the Bulls opted to insert another big man in Drummond. This approach should help limit Antetokounmpo’s easy looks at the rim and make it a little easier for their offense to keep up with the Bucks. Look for an upset tonight.
