THE Milwaukee Bucks will host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday night. This is the first half of a two-year stretch, with the Bucks traveling to OKC in mid-April.

Where we are

The Bucks shared a SEGABABA against the unhappy Nets And happy Celtics. They played only one quarter of basketball against the Celtics, a brilliant energy-saving ploy to narrowly avoid the Nets the next night. We couldn’t read much into these matches given the absence of Giannis and Khris, respectively, but wow, it didn’t look pretty at times. Khris’ absence made the offense difficult to guard, but Giannis’ absence – and his reliable size – made for tough guys.

The Thunder are atop the Western Conference, after wins against the Mavs, Grizz, Jazz and Raptors. Not exactly Murderers’ Row, but a consistent streak of solid gameplay. The Thunder are good, young and deep, led by SGA but with a host of other talents. They will look to hold off the Nuggets in the battle for the top seed.

Injury report

For the Bucks, Giannis (left hamstring tendinopathy) and Khris (left ankle sprain) are probable.

The Thunder have a clean bill of health. Ah, youth.

Player to watch

I’ll be watching how the Bucks deal with Chet, especially with Brook getting fewer minutes lately.
