CLEVELAND, Ohio – After punching deeper into the playoffs, the Cavs will look to continue their rise in the NBA Eastern Conference with a returning core four and a new face at the helm of the sidelines. Full season and single-game tickets are now on sale from major third-party sites for all games in the 2024-25 NBA season.

For the fourth year in a row, the Cavs will open the season on the road. They will begin with the Toronto Raptors on Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern.

In their home opener, Cleveland and new head coach Kenny Atkinson will host former head coach J.B. Bickerstaff and the Detroit Pistons. Bickerstaff was fired after falling short of expectations with the team from 2020-24.

After a grueling seven-game series, the Cavs will get their first look at the Orlando Magic on Nov. 1. The playoff rematch is also the first of their 16 nationally televised games.

Cleveland will have 16 back-to-backs consisting of three home-home, four home-road, four road-road and five road-home.

LeBron James returns to Cleveland on Halloween Eve with a matchup between the Cavs and the Los Angeles Lakers while the two will clash again on New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles. Kyrie Irving and the defending Western Conference Champion Dallas Mavericks will visit Cleveland on Feb. 2.

Cleveland gets their first look at the defending NBA Champion Boston Celtics on Nov. 19. during group stage play of the Emirates NBA Cup. Boston comes to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Dec. 1 and Feb. 4.

The Cavaliers will be in Group C for the NBA Cup. They will clash with Boston, Chicago, Atlanta and Washington throughout mid-November and early December for a chance to move into the knockout phase of the tournament in December.

As of Aug. 21, the cheapest overall seats are $11 from StubHub and Viagogo for the home game against the Orlando Magic on Nov. 1. The game will also be televised on ESPN.

The cheapest road tickets I found overall are $14 from StubHub for the road matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans on Nov. 6.

The best find for 2024-25 season tickets (all home games) is from Viagogo for $7,280.

Tickets: Vivid Seats | StubHub | Viagogo | Ticket City

How much are Cavs tickets?

Current prices range anywhere from $11 to just under $300 for the cheapest available seat.

How many national TV games do the Cavs have?

The Cavs will play in 16 nationally televised games. Here is the network breakdown: Eight on NBA TV, four on TNT and four on ESPN. It’s the most nationally televised games since Lebron James’ second departure in 2018.

How do I watch Cavs basketball on ESPN, TNT and NBA TV for free?

Fans who have parted ways with their cable provider can catch the Cavs at no cost by taking advantage of streaming alternatives like DirecTV Stream, which offers a free trial. ESPN and NBA TV Games can also be found on FuboTV.

Sling TV is another option that has promotional offers for new customers.

How did the Cavs do in the 2023 season?

Looking to shake off the notion that they were not ready for the moment in the postseason, the Cavs delivered another strong regular season campaign, posting a 48-34 record and finishing with the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference for the second consecutive season.

Cleveland overcame their annual injury bug with major setbacks sidelining Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and Donovan Mitchell. That trio each missed 25 games or more. The Cavs found their mojo in a prolific shooting display guided by the emergence of 3-point specialist Sam Merrill. They darted up the standings before sliding back down once the original lineup returned. The Cavs came back fairly healthy and maintained one of the strongest defenses in the league for the second consecutive season.

With the pressure to advance in the playoffs mounting, the first round against the fifth-seeded Orlando Magic was a topsy turvy affair that would unsettle even the calmest of nerves. Jarrett Allen suffered a bruised rib in Game 4, exiting the season for good. He missed eight of the last 12 games due to the injury. Cleveland defended home court in dramatic fashion, overcoming an 18-point deficit to win a do-or-die Game 7 and punch a date with the eventual NBA Champion Boston Celtics.

It was their first playoff win since 2018.

The Cavs stole Game 2 against the heavily favored Celtics with a dominant performance, but Boston took care of business the rest of the way, delivering a gentleman’s sweep in the second round. The second consecutive year Cleveland tasted one of those. Mitchell missed the final two games due to a calf injury as speculation began to swirl about his future with the franchise.

Cleveland’s campaign came to a screeching halt for many reasons, including their inept offense. In addition to shooting 31.5% from beyond the arc, they managed to score over 100 points in just four of their 12 playoff games.

The Cavs advanced further than the previous year, but the writing was on the wall as Cleveland let go of Bickerstaff, ushering in a new era under Atkinson.

Despite wild speculation over the offseason, the core four of Mitchell, Garland, Mobley and Allen remain intact. Mobley signed a five-year max rookie extension, Mitchell signed a three-year extension, silencing the doubters. Allen followed suit shortly after with a three-year deal of his own, signaling the return of the core four.

After a pivotal contribution last season, Max Strus will also return for his second year with the team.

The Cavs bench, led by microwave scorer Caris LeVert, remains a question mark. The 3-point shot was downright dangerous last year, but it waned as the season went on. Which rotational pieces will take the next step in securing more playing time, and redesigning their role? Will their style of play shift with a new coach at the helm?

With opening night over two months away, Cleveland is ready to continue its climb up the Eastern Conference. The journey resumes Oct. 23 in Toronto.
