The Philadelphia 76ers stars Joel Embiid and Paul George have yet to set foot on the ground togetherbut some are already trying to shake things up.

Oklahoma City Thunder big man Chet Holmgren recently appeared on George’s Podcastwhere he proposed a rather controversial question. He asked which of the Philadelphia stars would take the shot in a winning situation.

“You all need a basket at the end of the game,” Holmgren said. “Who shoots the winning shot? You or [Joel Embiid]?”

“That’s a Nick Nurse question. I’ll throw it back at Nick Nurse,” George replied. “Whoever Nick Nurse draws it for, we’ll have the best chance.”

“It’s a PR response,” the OKC star joked.

The answer depends on the situation. If two points or less are needed, Embiid is the obvious choice as he is one of the most dominant interior players in the NBA. A three-point shot would be a more likely opportunity for George or guard Tyrese Maxey.

George is more than accustomed to playing alongside other stars throughout his career, meaning the final shot at Embiid won’t affect him muchKawhi Leonard, James Harden, Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony are among the team’s main running mates.

Alternatively, Embiid has been the No. 1 option for most of his career, which leaves questions surrounding his acceptance of a final shot prepared for his newly acquired teammate.
